This is it!

Do you know when you have an idea and you think “Yes. This is it. This is the one!”

Well, that thought has just occurred to me and now I can not stop writing. I have been waiting so long for this inspiration and now it has hit me tenfold.

I have handwritten a four page premise already, outlining most of the base structure of a brand new story that came to mind out of nowhere.

I am currently ecstatic about it and find myself unable to sleep so I can make note of all of the thoughts I am having about this new project. I am keeping notes the old fashioned way, with my trusty notebook and pen.

At this point the story is for myself. I think this is going to be an excellent coping mechanism to get me out of my current slump.

Enough rambling, I should get back to writing. I just wanted to share my excitement with you, because I think it is only fair you get to see all sides of me.

      5. It’s more a worry when you wake up and feel like you haven’t dreamt at all! I see that as 5 hours of wasted potential (I wish I could say 8 but can’t seem to settle for that long in any one place… including my bed 😉)

  5. This is awesome! I love it when this kind of thing happens! I’m glad you’re this excited about it. Especially the part about not being able to sleep. From what I’ve read about things, the people who become so passionate about something that they can’t even sleep, or rather not sleep, are the kind of people who are onto something.

    Do not lose that momentum!

  6. Bingo ! I so agree with you. A pen and a diary handy gives all our ideas a platform. Sometimes when i want to write I have nothing..but when i sit with my diary and a pen and when no one is to disturb, i can get my creativity on the paper. Write an amazing piece of work Sara🙂

      1. I have a need to report on the human condition, I think. I have never liked the idea of writing within a ‘genre’. My opinion is that ‘genre’ might be something upon which other people decide after you have written something rather than you decide before you’ve written it. I don’t even like the idea of ‘plot’ very much. I view ‘plot’ as just a vehicle to carry the things you want to say, but I acknowledge, none the less, the necessity of it. And there’s my problem. I can’t come up with a plot. So, as I say, if you have any spare ones lying around the house I might have a home for them.

      2. Ah Yoda. He made some good points. I think writing this story is what I need to do to get my thoughts in order without being literal in any sense. A little escapism and a shift in perspective is well and truly needed.

  24. This is my favourite part of any project: the spark, and its overwhelming mania, the blossoming ideas, the all-consuming tidbits coming so quickly, so vividly, so powerfully. It’s intoxicating, like falling in love.
