Stay tuned!

Hello fellow Humans of the world,

Just a quick update. I am finally out of my slump and with that comes fresh inspiration.

I have shaped my book idea a little more, which I am feeling good about. I am brushing up with some studying before I start forming the chapters, to make a better start of it. I think this will be beneficial in the long run.

Speaking of books, I am thinking of putting a collection of my poems together in the form of an Ebook, which I would like to make available for purchase. I know Amazon have a platform for this, but if you are a self publisher and know of other avenues, I would appreciate it if you could please point me in the right direction. I am a complete novice when it comes to publishing, so I will take this as a chance to learn and hopefully grow. The poetry book will feature some of my favourite poems I have posted here, but I am working on a lot more behind the scenes, so you would really get your money’s worth in the sense of fresh content. I have a title in mind and also a vision for the cover. All being well, I could have this released as soon as mid April. If I did release a poetry book, would you be interested in it?

The next thing on my writing agenda is to form a weekly schedule for this blog. Each day will be set with a particular theme, like a poem, an article of some sort, the book club and I have been jotting down other ideas to fill out at least five days of the week. I think this way, I can explore the different things I enjoy more and you as the reader can pick and choose what you feel like reading, depending on if it suits your taste.

For now I have the wheels in motion and a fire in my heart to make these plans a reality. Unfortunately life can get in the way sometimes, but it won’t stop me trying to stick to some sort of routine.

Well, that is it for now.

Until next time, have a good one.

  1. Hi Sara,
I hope your writing plans materialize soon! 😊

I have self-published on Amazon which is a place to be if you ask me – they have a great publishing platform and I don’t know many people who don’t shop on Amazon… It’s hard to beat that.

Having said that, I’m not crazy about the Amazon e-book’s formatting options. Hence, I made my book available on my own website too. Well, kind of – it can be purchased via Paypal for now. This will soon change because I plan to open a WP store where you can purchase and download e-books. Consider doing that. To open a WP store you need to upgrade to WP Business Plan https://en.support.wordpress.com/business-plan/ You’ve developed an amazing community here so I’m sure your book sales will justify the investment. Not to mention – if you make your e-book available on your website, you can use it to build your email list (if that’s something you want to do). When you sell your products on other platforms you build those platforms’ client base not your own (food for thought).

Then again, there’s nothing stopping you from publishing on both platforms. However, if you enrol your book in Amazon’s KDP Select https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/select , you are contractually obliged by Amazon to not make your e-book available anywhere else for a period of time.

Other than that, I’d say just go for it. Gradually, you’ll figure out what works for you and what doesn’t. All the very best,

    Monika 😊

  2. This is brilliant. I have written poems and heard somewhere that if your poems are online, publishers might not accept it due to the latter reason. So, I took them all down and now putting them together and thinking of self publishing them. Would love to keep updated with your findings. Gem

    1. I have heard the same thing. The poems I plan on publishing aren’t on here. There would be a couple I would want to use that are published on my site, but like you, I would take them down. I don’t know the ins and outs of publishing, but I need to write the content first and then I will be doing all of the research into that.
