Stay tuned!

Hello fellow Humans of the world,

Just a quick update. I am finally out of my slump and with that comes fresh inspiration.

I have shaped my book idea a little more, which I am feeling good about. I am brushing up with some studying before I start forming the chapters, to make a better start of it. I think this will be beneficial in the long run.

Speaking of books, I am thinking of putting a collection of my poems together in the form of an Ebook, which I would like to make available for purchase. I know Amazon have a platform for this, but if you are a self publisher and know of other avenues, I would appreciate it if you could please point me in the right direction. I am a complete novice when it comes to publishing, so I will take this as a chance to learn and hopefully grow. The poetry book will feature some of my favourite poems I have posted here, but I am working on a lot more behind the scenes, so you would really get your money’s worth in the sense of fresh content. I have a title in mind and also a vision for the cover. All being well, I could have this released as soon as mid April. If I did release a poetry book, would you be interested in it?

The next thing on my writing agenda is to form a weekly schedule for this blog. Each day will be set with a particular theme, like a poem, an article of some sort, the book club and I have been jotting down other ideas to fill out at least five days of the week. I think this way, I can explore the different things I enjoy more and you as the reader can pick and choose what you feel like reading, depending on if it suits your taste.

For now I have the wheels in motion and a fire in my heart to make these plans a reality. Unfortunately life can get in the way sometimes, but it won’t stop me trying to stick to some sort of routine.

Well, that is it for now.

Until next time, have a good one.

  1. I am about to release a book of poems too. I used amazon createspace. I prefer that over other platforms. It is also easy to get your work modified to be in Kindle formate.

  2. Well, you were asking for publishing avenues… I don’t know of any specific ones that can get you a contract by April… I actually have a dream of getting my works out into the market, too. I’ve put them up on writing sites such as Wattpad and Sweek, which have ties with publishers. You can try going through them, if you’re interested. You can also check out Inkitt. All of them are connected to various publishers around the world.

I think that’s all I’ve got to say. All the very best for your endeavour! 😊👍

      1. Yes I do, and when I Googled @asasandberg2018 both of my bloggs came up. One is called 1word@thetime ( is about song lyric writing. The other one is called Overweight Thoughts ( I hope that helps.

  3. I’m so happy that your inspiration has returned! It’s a joyous feeling. I eagerly await your collection of poems. I haven’t self-published anything yet (Working on it), but I’ve heard good things about Amazon. A writer who has self-published is James Harrington, and I follow his blog. He’s given me some good advice and tips on self-publishing already. I wrote a blog post about self-publishing in July 2017:

Here’s James’s information for you. Best of luck!!

  4. Hi Sara,
I hope your writing plans materialize soon! 😊

I have self-published on Amazon which is a place to be if you ask me – they have a great publishing platform and I don’t know many people who don’t shop on Amazon… It’s hard to beat that.

Having said that, I’m not crazy about the Amazon e-book’s formatting options. Hence, I made my book available on my own website too. Well, kind of – it can be purchased via Paypal for now. This will soon change because I plan to open a WP store where you can purchase and download e-books. Consider doing that. To open a WP store you need to upgrade to WP Business Plan You’ve developed an amazing community here so I’m sure your book sales will justify the investment. Not to mention – if you make your e-book available on your website, you can use it to build your email list (if that’s something you want to do). When you sell your products on other platforms you build those platforms’ client base not your own (food for thought).

Then again, there’s nothing stopping you from publishing on both platforms. However, if you enrol your book in Amazon’s KDP Select , you are contractually obliged by Amazon to not make your e-book available anywhere else for a period of time.

Other than that, I’d say just go for it. Gradually, you’ll figure out what works for you and what doesn’t. All the very best,

    Monika 😊
